With the rapid development of digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising, the city of Cincinnati, USA, sought to enhance its urban image and provide an efficient platform for commercial advertisements and public information dissemination. To achieve this, a digital signage network consisting of six LED displays was planned for downtown Cincinnati, covering high-traffic areas to improve visual appeal and communication efficiency in the city center.
High Visibility: Displays must accommodate multiple viewing angles, ensuring clarity for both pedestrians and vehicles.
Flexible Management: Support remote content updates for ad rotations, real-time information broadcasts, and more.
Environmental Adaptability: Screens must be weatherproof, high-brightness, and resistant to interference for outdoor use.
Aesthetic Integration: Installation should blend with urban architecture, avoiding visual disruption.
Led by premier outdoor media company Orange Barrel Media, a network of six LED displays with 8.0mm pixel pitch was deployed in downtown Cincinnati, ensuring high-resolution output. The solution included:
Dual Facade-Mounted Displays (Sycamore Street)
Locations: 7th & Sycamore (south-facing), 8th & Sycamore (west-facing)
Dimensions: 24'5" H × 13'8" W (930×520 pixels)
Double-Sided Blade Display (East Central Parkway)
Dimensions: 26'9" H × 13'8" W (1,020×520 pixels per side)
Seamless Corner LED Display (6th & Race Intersection)
Dimensions: 10'3" H × 37'10" W (390×1,440 pixels), covering southbound and westbound traffic.
8.0mm Pixel Pitch: Balances close-range clarity and long-distance visibility.
Smart Content Management: Enables remote updates for ads and public announcements.
High Brightness & Wide Viewing Angles: Ensures readability under varying lighting conditions.
Seamless Corner Design: The 6th & Race display uses advanced blending technology for smooth visual transitions.
Enhanced Urban Image: The modern DOOH network elevated Cincinnati’s technological and commercial appeal.
Efficient Information Delivery: Advertisers gained precise targeting, while the city improved real-time updates (traffic, weather, emergencies).
High Engagement: Some screens supported interactive content, increasing public participation.
Advertisers: Praised the screens’ high exposure and flexible ad scheduling, reporting strong ROI.
City Authorities: Applauded the network’s efficiency in broadcasting public service announcements.
Residents & Visitors: Expressed satisfaction with the vibrant and dynamic content, enhancing the urban experience.
